Science Essentials is a home school program derived from Science: Out of This World that takes all the great labs and activities and adapts them for completion by one or two students. Our goal is to create learning experiences that help students develop a positive attitude toward science and learning science as they learn at home. The user friendly program materials and learning activities can effectively be presented by parents or other facilitators with little or no formal science training. Basic scientific principles are approached in a way that is attractive and motivational for students. Real-world applications of technology from space missions and a space theme tie the different fields of scientific research together to introduce basics in both science and mathematics. Each lesson includes a hands-on science activity. Parent guides take the parent step by step through facilitation of each activity and lesson. The student portion of this web site (with over 1300 pages of space and science content) is available online at no charge. For as little as $10 per family ($100 per home school association) you get access to the teacher portion of the site, which includes access to answer keys, teacher labs, and instructional support materials and features. |
